- Anticipate Now that you can spot cyclical and linear changes as well as which are hard trends and which are soft trends, you are ready to start formulating some strategies. It is not enough anymore to be proactive, to succeed you need to be preactive. Being proactive is about heading off problems that are right around the corner.
