2012 has been an extraordinarily important year for my family and me personally. Over the last 8 months my wife and I purchased our first home together, welcomed our first child, and to cap it off, my family announced the sale of our Managed Services practice to All Covered, a division of Konica Minolta.
Here we are 3 weeks into the formal announcement of the sale of our Managed Services practice to All Covered and I thought I would take a few minutes to share our experiences so far. It’s all about integration and getting ready for GROWTH!
It’s not that often that I come across a partner in business that far exceeds my expectations, but Leon Mayer‘s team did just that.
In the spring of 2012, we decided to find a strategic partner to help achieve the aggressive growth and long-term geographical expansion plans of our Managed IT Services division. As we started this process we knew we could not do this alone and we really needed the guidance of an advisor. We took the suggestions of many in the community that we should find an independent firm (not our accountant or attorneys) to advise us in this process from start to finish. On an early Saturday morning, Ivan Rezvoy and David Sanchez went head to head, competing in a Paintball Challenge Face Off. The stakes were high as the grand prize was the sought-after bike that Brian Dosal graciously donated. The prize had a price tag though; the winner of the bike must compete in all three legs (swim, bike, run) in the 2013 Nautica South Beach Triathlon. Allow me to backtrack for a moment. Prior to the 2012 triathlon, Sanchez “El Tiburon” did his fair share of “trash talking” that continued after the triathlon was completed. Rezvoy “Wolfman” joined the conversation (trash talking) and somewhere in between, the Paintball Challenge Face Off to win Brian’s bike came to fruition.
