It has been a while since I posted about our new office build out and I wanted to circle back on it because it has been a big focus of ours over the past few weeks.
I thought I did a pretty good job ahead of time planning out the office move and getting ready to start construction. I felt that I had everything in place to make it a successful project but as we got closer to breaking ground, I realized I was totally wrong. This project was significantly bigger and more time consuming than I had anticipated, which would be fine if I had nothing else to do.
Just as construction started in early November the requests started coming in from the different vendors and I knew I was in trouble. So I reached out to a partner of ours and asked for their help in finding a project manager that can help me through the project.
Chris Coello joined us in mid November with the task of taking the lead on the project. Just in his first few days he was able to take the majority of the responsibility off my shoulders and help organize the project. So the move has gone from this big project I was dreading to allowing me to focus on the excitement of the upcoming move and share that excitement with our employees, clients, and partners.
Chris asked me what success would I like for this project and I said, “if one day you call me and just tell me to walk over to the new office with my laptop and I can simply start working”.
We have a few weeks to go until we’re done with the project and it’s already amazing on how awesome the office will be. Check out our Facebook page for more details about the build out at www.facebook.com/compuquiptechnologies.
